I can literally feel eyes rolling at the sight of this post’s title, but it’s true! If you have a bright, colourful dishcloth to work with, doesn’t dish washing become more fun? All I can think of when I see these wash cloths is “candy”.
This is a great project for a beginner! A 42.g (3.5 oz) skein of Bernat Handicrafter 100% cotton (this wash cloth in “Playtime”) will make one dish cloth.
Using I hook, chain 27 (or depending on how big you want it to be, an even number of chains plus 1)
Row 1: sc in second ch from the hook, *dc in the next ch, sc in the next ch; repeat from * across to last ch, dc in last
Row 2: ch 1, turn, *sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc; repeat from * across to end.
Repeat Row 2 to create the pattern until your fabric is square (approximately 9 inches square). Fasten off and weave in ends.
